Hamilton was born in Toronto, Ontario. Her early childhood was spent bouncing around between Canada, France, and Italy until her family finally settled down in Beaune, France. She left Beaune for Cambridge University where she studied History of Art at King’s College. She graduated from Cambridge in 2009 (“Alwyn Hamilton | Penguin Random House”). She then moved to London where she currently works for an auction house (Coe).
