Literatures have always play an important role in our world throughout the history. Each work has different purposes and it has the power that can make impacts to the readers’ lives. No matter where you live, how old you are, and what is your background, everyone is influence by literature in some kind of way. Although many people in today’s society do not see the values in literature, it has the power to spread awareness of social and political problems, entertain, preserve knowledge, and change people’s beliefs and values. Literatures have change the society in many different ways. Even though literature can benefit the society in many different ways, it can still in a way to have negative impact to the society.

For example, incidents in the life of a slave girl written by Harriet Ann Jacob and Uncle Tom’s Cabin written by Harriet Beecher Stowe was some of the most important works to expose the reality of slavery. He wrote The Speech of Polly Baker to address how women should be fairly treated instead of getting punish for something that should be praised
