This quote means that John can not hang the same place as Rebecca since she can be considered as a good puritan puritan unlike him. Goody Nurse is a 71 year old woman who lives in Salem. She is well respected and very wise. She was known to be a very good puritan woman so when she is accused of witchcraft everyone has second thought on the theory. She is unable to lie because she knows that is a sin so she ends up being hung for being a witch. When she was asked to confess to witchcraft, she was not able to do so. She chose to tell the truth and say she was not a witch rather than to lie and confess to witchcraft to save her life. She knows that lying is a sin and since she is a good puritan woman, lying is the worst thing she could have done in that situation. I am similar to Rebecca in this way because I do not like to lie. If I am ever in a situation where I have the opportunity to lie, I will still tell the truth. In the end, it makes me feel like an overall better person. If I would lie then i would not be able to have that feeling of satisfaction that I had done something good. Lastly, Rebecca Nurse and I are both smart. When Ruth Putnam was not acting like herself after she got caught dancing in the woods, the first person they thought to call for help was Rebecca Nurse. She helped out a lot of people in the town because they all thought she was smart enough to help them with what they wanted done. I would like to consider myself smart. I do well in school and get good grades. I also like to make the smarter decision when needed to. If I am with my friends, I will still choose the smarter decision even if none of them do.
