Macbeth's Coronation Dinner

The coronation dinner that night changed many things. That night everyone felt uneasy especially with the way the place appeared with such dark and comfortless colors around the palace. It was so utterly quiet that you could hear a pin drop and it brought chills to even the most powerful of people. Suspicions of various people were proven to be correct including the suspicions of Ross and Lennox. The dinner started fairly normal with the delightful smell of roasted beef roaming every hallway in the palace overpowering the stench of the uncleaned floors and unchanged drapes. However, ross began to realize something was extensively unusual such as Macbeth’s hallucinations. Also, Macbeth seemed as if he hadn’t slept in days with wrinkles at …show more content…
Little did they know someone was right outside the door listening to every word they were said. Lennox heard a noise come from something near the door and just as they were walking to the door to open it a an enormous grotesque rat appeared from under the drawer next to the door making them both screech. They became distracted by the rat that they forgot to check the noise behind the door and just continued conversing. Outside the door the person could clearly hear them speaking and they heard one the men inside say “... Macbeth is stressing and Lady macbeth is hiding something but what are they hiding.” In this moment the person outside the door couldn’t hide the anger and rage anymore she she busted through the door with a face of pure anger. Lennox and ross turned around instantly with horror on their face to see the person standing in front of them was Lady Macbeth. Both of the men looked at each other and then back to her and they had never felt fear like they did in that moment because they knew the power she had. It was her word over theirs and there was no way the consequences would be …show more content…
Lennox stood with a horrified look on his face as he looked down to see his friends blood pool at his feet and then realized the splatters of blood all over his clothing. He fell to his knees with despair and guilt. He had no family unlike ross who had three children and a wife back at home and now they would live their life without a father. He cried and cried then lady macbeth grabbed him by the chin and told him to be quiet and get up. He stumbled as he got up and she said to him “you tell anyone of what happened tonight then you will end up in the same spot as your friend.” He didn’t say anything but continued to cry. She turned around and told him to stay in the room and clean up but just as she was turning around she gripped the candle holder in her hand and said “Actually I can’t jeopardize everything because of an inadequate and weak man.” With these words she forced the candle holder hard against the side of his head and a grand scream came out but then no more crying nor screams. She dropped the candle holder and reached for the

In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is a brave solider in King Duncan’s Army but his envy for what others have will lead him down a dark road to acquire what he wants. Envy is the desire for the traits, status, abilities, or situations of others. Envy has been the downfall of many Kings in the Middle Ages, their constant desire for what others have led them to commit atrocities and tear their kingdoms apart and Macbeth is no different. Macbeth is not envious of the possessions of King Duncan but he is envious for the King’s power, so envious that he will betray the very man he served.…

In his play Macbeth, Shakespeare uses plot to showcase the cause and effect relationship between ambition and action. This plays a major part in the main theme of the play, which questions unchecked power and ambition. Macbeth’s power/position goes unchecked for a long period of time in the play; this is not to say that there were not those who wondered whether Macbeth was actually fit to be in charge. This merely shows how rather than taking action sooner, most of the characters who were wary of Macbeth chose first to try and wait things out, all the while Macbeth continued on his quest for more power. A debatable topic that stems from the theme of unchecked power and ambition, is whether or not Macbeth’s ambition to become King was pre-existing…

Upon the entrance of Macbeth , she flatters him with 'Great Glamis, Worthy cawdor', a manoeuvre solely purposed to soften his heart with the 'milk of human kindness', thus attaining much influence over him. The reason for such is that her aspirations require the complete loyalty and conformity of her accomplice, and thus is her intention, an intention that requires much comprehension of situations. Yet despite the excitement that prevails in her, her ability to conceal such emotions lest one should hear it further illustrates her sharp intellect, as the immediate switch in her focus to deter any listeners, and to question 'what is your tidings' again exemplify a mind of great stability. Her use of coded language to express this joy, and the strategy which she wishes to employ, as to 'catch the nearest way' further reinforce this point. To conjure further upon this, her employment of imperatives display her reign, with her husband.…
