Maple High School Log Sheet

Improved Essays
This is a photocopy of a log sheet I filled out in October. Log sheets are used in Maple High School’s cooperative education program to keep track of how many hours a student works at their co-op placement each week. This is an extremely important document because if I do not hand this in at the end of the week, none of the hours I worked for that week will count towards the 190 work hours I must complete by the end of this semester. By performing this task, I am able to improve and perfect my personal management skills which are essential for me to have in all aspects of life (i.e. at home, in school, and at work). If I improve my personal management skills now at my co-op placement, I will have strong personal management skills later in life. Finally, my log sheets show credible proof of my teaching experience, which can be included in a resume when applying for a job in the …show more content…
high school teacher, swimming instructor, etc). Log sheets can be considered to be credible since they are signed by my supervisor each week, confirming that I actually worked the hours I recorded on the log sheet. I am including this evidence in my portfolio because it effectively demonstrates that I have excellent personal management skills. First and foremost, this log sheet bespeaks my honesty, integrity, and personal ethics. I have never lied about the hours I filled out on my log sheet. Each and every minute recorded on my log sheets was hard-earned. Since I work at an elementary school, I do sometimes have some downtime during lunch recess. This is because my supervisor, Mrs. Gray, often goes out for lunch and the students are, obviously, playing outside. As a result, I may choose to work on some school work from either cooperative education or from another course I’m

Main findings From the report, Ofsted gathered that Rokesly Infants School offers a good standard of quality teaching and also exceptional care for pupils. The school lives up to their motto, ‘At Rokesly every child matters in every way’. Ofsted also found that parent/carers were equally pleased with the ‘balance between learning and other enrichment activities’ which was a statement stated by a parent and confirmed by the inspectors. Much of the success from the school was mainly due to the effective and gentle administration that the head teacher and leadership team possess who have a firm understanding of the schools strengths and weaknesses due to accurate self-evaluations.…

Before embarking on my high school journey at Sayreville War Memorial High School I was told to join clubs. Sophomore year I attended the September SADD meeting. SADD stands for Students Against Destructive Decisions and it is a club that encourages students to confront the daily risks of living in the world today. The advisor, Ms. Corrales, would always pick an issue in society for each meeting and provide us with the best tools to go about handling the issue. During my sophomore year, she invited me to the NJ Regional Conference with our executive board.…

Comparing Freemont High to Maryville High High school should be a place where teens feel comfortable, and to a certain extent, free to make their own decisions. At Freemont High School (FHS), Jonathan Kozol interviewed the students’ attendance, and all of them said this school was none of the things it is supposed to be. Though Maryville High School, a small town East Tennessee school, is extremely different than Freemont High School, an inner city school in Los Angeles, at first glance, the two actually have a few things in common. When looking at what Jonathan Kozol’s wrote in his article about FHS, a Los Angeles high school called, “Freemont High School”, written in 2005, three similarities arise: crowded lunches, unsanitary conditions, and freedom. At Freemont High School there are…

My professional goal is to obtain a Walden’s Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in crisis and trauma intervention. I would especially like to work with individuals affected by crisis, trauma, and grief, and help them overcome their personal and social problems that have, without a doubt, strong negative influences on their lives. Studying at Walden University is important to me, because this school will give me the knowledge and skills that I need to help people make the most of their own abilities, develop skills, and empower them to reach their goals. In the future, after gaining more knowledge and experience about mental health, I want to create mental health service agencies across the United States that will help the…

“You must get an education. You must go to school, and you must learn to protect yourself. And you must learn to protect yourself with the pen, and not the gun”(Josephine Baker). Growing up in Southwest Philadelphia and Upper Darby, I have seen a lot of my peers turn their backs on education due to the hardships of their urban school environment. Due to the poor education system and their circumstances, they decided to head towards street life such as selling drugs and gun violence.…

Even though everyone who goes to Shakopee High School knows about this situation, they do not know how much it has significantly affected my life. My life changed last year in so many ways. In some ways this has given me more opportunities, but in most cases this event has negatively changed everything around me. Worst of all it has made me lose many friends, given me a bad reputation, and has made everyone think that I am someone that I am not. People I had never met did not like me, discriminated against me in some situations; but on the other hand, it has showed me who my real friends are because they continued to persevere by my side and stuck with me through all of the tough times.…

I walked briskly on a summer morning on the sidewalk to my college campus, Yale! I had been accepted in the middle of my Canby high school days because of my excellent grades, leadership skills, and my confidence in speeches. One other person had been accepted in my grade at that time named Tanya, but rumor has it that her father works in the staff and influenced the principal's decision with some ‘green paper’. Ever since 5th grade, she has taken my ideas into her projects, wowing the teachers and getting perfect grades. One time in middle school I caught her fumbling through my locker searching through my binder to find my lab notes during lunch.…

Since moving to Bettendorf for my High School years I have learned more than I could imagine and for that, I will be grateful for forever. I have learned more about myself, more in school, and most importantly I have learned from my mistakes including how to fix them to prevent myself from ever making them again. Everyone makes mistakes and may possibly get in trouble for these. I will never forget Bettendorf High School nor February 28th, 2018. February 28th was a day that has changed how I think about my best friends, and also made think about everyone a lot more than I did before.…

    Essay On DISC Assessment

Having never taken the DISC assessment before, I was unsure about what to expect. I thought it was fairly accurate in many ways, but I felt that it very much tapped into what I consider my “work” self and did not cover much of who I am outside of that. I scored a high average score on the D spectrum. This seemed accurate, as I am relatively competitive overall, I like looking at the big-picture, I don’t mind taking risks, I can be critical of those that don’t measure up to my standards and I am very interested in new and innovative things.…

I really enjoyed the time I spent in Mrs. Flinn’s fourth grade classroom over Spring Break. I was able to observe for a total of four hours between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. During my time with the fourth graders, I took a closer look at the solid behavior classroom supports being used. Along with these supports, I was extremely impressed by the way Mrs. Flinn handled classroom management. Even though I observed during a very exciting week, she had great control over her students.…
