First, it would be helpful to know the types of sacrifices, since there are many, and are often quite broad. As mentioned before, there is the sacrifice of ones life, which is considered the highest level of sacrifice that can be made. There is also the sacrifice of someone time, or space, or comfort. The things that we hold closely to us and protect, making sacrificing them feel like a struggle at times. Again, sacrifice is subjective, and completely up to someone own perception and what’s available. When somebody gives up their time to help a friend, when they should be doing something else, they could be sacrificing their job, or their productivity, because they sacrificed their time as well. Which is understandably going to make a difference for the individual. In turn, doing so to help a dear friend, could mean much as well, or more depending on the circumstances. each outcome could go either way, making sacrifices is opening yourself up, becoming vulnerable, and leaving things up to chance.
