Medical Malpractice Initiatives

In veterinarian hospitals all over the nation your pet(s) may have been subjected to malpractice while in their care. So according to the article Crimes against Animals: “In Washington DC, the Washington Humane Society (WHS) is the only Congressionally-chartered animal welfare agency in the United States.” In recent years the corruption in veterinary hospitals has been on the rise due to lack of professionalism and money-hungry vets. Grooming salons have also been subjected to malpractice when leaving an animal in the dryer to long causing heat stroke and other neglect. According to the National Museum of Crime and Punishment; “Sadistic acts of animal abuse are a stepping stone leading to the abuse of other humans. A 1997 study revealed that forty percent of animal abusers have committed crimes against people.” …show more content…
Author Sarah Pusateri wrote an article that stated: “The law treats them as if they were inanimate objects. Texas Supreme Court is now discussing whether or not pet owners are entitled to emotional damages when their pets are injured or killed in the care of a veterinarian or groomer.” From the article Mediation for medical malpractice actions author Maria Russo says: “An important problem with medical malpractice litigation is the manner in which malpractice claims are resolved.
