MSG Benavidez was a leader of legacy who emulated all of the leadership attributes and Army values to its fullest potential. The leadership requirements model includes character, presence, intellect, leads, develops, and achieves. The Army values consist of honor, selfless service, personal courage, duty, integrity, respect, and loyalty. Every attribute and value is exuded through MSG Benavidez's actions, each divided specifically to isolate a specific trait. I was personally very inspired by his ability to use his will to achieve amazing results. During the Vietnam War, he was wounded terribly. The doctors told him he would never walk again.
