Therefore, Leanne should have a family support worker or social work support as Leanne and her family would benefit from a supportive and consistent relationship with a worker who can respond to their needs in the absence of her family. For example, child maintenance, child tax credit, income support, housing benefit and CSA which are all benefits that help people who are living on low income to look after their children.
Also, there are community resources that are available to Leanne which include services such as Sure Start, children’s centres and family centres. However, Leanne may be frightened to use these resources in fear that a social worker or a health visitor notices that she is struggling to take care of the children and considers taking them into care.
