Milwaukee has the tenth highest homicide of any of America's City. The second highest in the murder rate in the Midwest tailing Detroit. The murder rate has increased 19.67% since 2007 to 2017. So out of 100,000 people 25 are likely to die. There were 124 homicides in 2007 and there were 151 homicides in 2017 in Milwaukee . Now in 2018 there is a total of 34,133 annually and a crime rate of 57.36 per 1,000 residents. Milwaukee is now four percent safer than all the cities in the United States. How can we make Milwaukee a safer place? How can we prevent homicides in Milwaukee?
The way can prevent homicides in Milwaukee by reducing weapons or having more weapon control. Because most of the murders that are committed are due to a firearm. There have been an estimate of 15, 549 gun deaths in the united states. So more weapon control would be better. We should also have a healthier environment where people try to communicate more with each other and have a better relationship. Because that’s another reason there is a lot of homicides. Gangs are one of the leading factors of growth in violent crimes because in the gangs you must do whatever your leader or other gang members want such as shooting, killing, or robbing. There could also be a place where people can protect people or kids from gangs because sometimes they are young and dumb and join gangs at a young age and regret getting in there because of the violent activiti that they do. Some just need help getting out of them but they are scared they will kill them when they leave the gang so they stay there and keep on doing bad things for the gang such as killing. Other of them are just looking for somewhere to sleep so they don't have to sleep in the streets so the gangs wont recruit
