Toledo’s day to teach, so we sparred, like every other time he taught us. We put on our sparring gear, except for our body protector, because it was too bulky and restricted our movements. Our gear contained, a headpiece, two sparring gloves, two feet gears, two shin guards, a crotch protector, the body gear, and a mouthpiece. Mr. Toledo paired up everyone with a partner to spar. Although I thought it was highly unlikely, my sparring partner was none other than my friend, Ransley. As we started sparring, I took my time and caused gradual damage to him. It seemed like at the rate the fight was going, I was going to win, until I accidentally hit him in the face. Soon after, a small amount of blood came out of his nose and he started crying. A few moments later; however, he was enraged. Up until that certained point in time, I thought that I had assured myself a victory. But I was wrong, because the match that day ended with my defeat. After class, I apologized to him for the injury, but then I was curious. Once we left the classroom, I asked him how he learned how to jab and punch like how he did during the match. He responded by revealing to me that before he took this class, he had boxing classes. I was surprised, and I learned something.
