The Type Focus test clarified how I interact with people and what motivates my actions. Through this test, I discovered that I have an ISFJ, or Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging, personality. According to the results provided back to me by the Type Focus program, people with ISFJ personalities would most feel most comfortable in a career dedicated to “caring and commitment” which would include careers in the health or teaching professions. People with the ISFJ personality are also characterized as being practical and organized; therefore, they would feel comfortable being a librarian or an office manager. While I mostly agree with the Type Focus test, I disagree with being a teacher or a librarian. While I see the merits in both professions such as benefit of helping people, I dislike the bureaucracy and politics involved with being a teacher, and while I enjoy books, I lack the passion for them that a librarian should possess. However, the Type Focus results also imply that I may be well suited for a health profession, and I am interested in researching careers in this field further. While the Type Focus evaluated how I interact and what I value, the Strong Interest Inventory evaluated how I interpret information. When I took the Strong Interest Inventory, I received a code back that showed that I am CRI, or Conventional, Realistic, and Investigative. It also showed that I performed poorly in the areas of being social, enterprising, and artistic. In fact, the inventory showed that the least compatible job for me, according to how I intake information, is being an art teacher because it requires artistic capabilities. On the other hand, the inventory showed that being an accountant, medical technologist, or an emergency medical
