Quitting is quite a challenging journey as nicotine and in general smoking is a strong compulsion which people have struggles breaking. Smoking carried out in teenage years is to be able to fit in, think its a maturity act and to experiment which then becomes a craving that they carry onto their adult life. Adults take this obsession to deal with stress or financial and personal problems. Nevertheless, smoking is a toxic habit carried out at any age, leading to undesirable effects. Any substance introduced to the human body can cause many negative effects, whether it’s being inhaled or consumed and the use of e-cigarettes aren’t any different. Not many people realize the negative unknown side effects of e-cigarettes, and what research may have found in e-cigarettes can do to the human body. Even though e-cigarettes don’t carry smoke in them “they do cause inflammation to the lungs”, Dr Edelman says. Dr Edelman a co-director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente explains how e-cigarettes would be similar to smoking tobacco cigarettes, with only less effects such getting a chronic cough. E-cigarettes are a gateway for long term ex smokers or daily smokers which allows them to go back on smoking. A study issued in JAMA Pediatrics, discovered that people at a younger age who are already in the habit of smoking e-cigarettes are highly more anticipated to begin consuming conservative cigarettes within a year’s time likened to aristocracies who do not use e-cigarettes (Primack, Soneji, Stoolmiller, Fine, & Sargent, 2015). This proves that these smokers, in other terms use e-cigarettes as a loophole where they are exposed to higher rates of nicotine, which causes them to relapse back into smoking. Alongside with these, e-cigarettes expose young teenagers to freely buy them online and smoke them whenever they prefer. This is one way to get young teenagers into a dangerous nicotine lifestyle at a young age, because of the fact that e-cigarettes are considered a ‘healthier’ alternate, since study is yet to identify whether e-cigarettes can direct young individuals to attempt other tobacco products because of the potential unknown effects (Primack, Soneji, Stoolmiller, Fine, & Sargent, 2015). As research is still yet to prove that effects of this drug, continuing smokers, and teenagers will continue to use this as an access to smoking
