Net neutrality is the notion that promotes neutral internet which means that internet service providers should not block legal content, applications or facilities, or forbid the use of non-harmful devices.
Net neutrality works on the principle that all web traffic flow should be treated equally, no matter where it originated or the type of data transmitted. A neutral Internet provides a massive, open, and worldwide market, and the ability for anyone to access information, products, and services via any Internet connection; it is this information that inspires entrepreneurs in developing countries to follow online activities.

These extra costs for "fast lanes" are problematic because they can make the services less affordable for internet users and also may prevent trivial companies from the capability to compete with the big companies who have the budget to meet contracts with ISPs.
• Net neutrality prevents discrimination among users confirming parallel access to information for people of different socio-economic standards. Without neutrality, high-speed internet for entertainment could be ranked over education. And ISPs could change premium fees (“pay-to-play”) to adore greater access to public libraries, helping the richest people.
• Network neutrality encourages liberty of choice, as ISPs cannot block particular contents or websites over others.
• Anti-blocking and anti-discrimination laws prevent the capability of ISPs to randomly choose to limit access or support some type of content. The part of ISPs is to only "transport" data to the users that have paid for delivery, and that is why they should not shape content consumption
