In the article, “Parenting Styles: What They Are and Why They Matter,” psychosocial specialist, Kendra Cherry, explains the correlation between parenting styles and how a child grows up. Cherry mentions research done by psychologist Diana Baumrind in which three parenting styles were established: authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive. Cherry further analyzes Baumrind’s findings and states how these parenting styles generally influence a child.
