My adoration for fantasy had only grown over the past few years, as had my desire for writing. Unfortunately for me, I had no way to present my writings to other people, to see if I was actually any good. According to my parents, I had a gift. But, as we all know, sometimes our parent’s opinions don’t really count. After a few weeks of attending Lincoln Charter, I found an opportunity to shine. My teacher, Mrs. Granzen, assigned us a project. We were to write a continuation of the story, ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ by Richard Connell. I latched onto the idea, and worked my hardest to create something worthwhile. While I worked on the project, I found myself thoroughly enjoying writing the story. I loved creating another world, if you will, using the details to paint a picture in my mind, and hopefully in the mind of my teacher and classmates when I presented it. When I read the story aloud to present it, it was the best moment of my life. My classmates (at least, the few who paid attention), were excited by my story, and I even had a few ask me to write a
