Personal Narrative: I Love The Sport Of Football

Improved Essays
I love the sport of football and I always will. There is no doubt in my mind that this sport is the best one in the world. There are people though that do think otherwise. It does bother that some people don’t like sports and especially when it’s about football. Football requires a lot of attitude, discipline and the right state of mind, not everybody can go through it, it’s tough, it is tiring, but at the end it still gives me feelings that I can’t express, the victory, knowing that those practices under the hot sun were worth it, you don’t play for yourself, you play for your brothers on that field, hot or cold, raining or snowing, you give your best for them because they try the best for you. People don’t understand the feeling of running on the field under the lights on Friday and playing. This one particular person pressed my buttons too far in what he thought …show more content…
It was just a normal conversation about our high school football games and we would also mention about the NFL. Some kid in the class turned around and told me and my friends to stop talking about sports and football and said to get a life. As you can probably see telling me that about football didn’t put me in the best mood ever. He was the type of kids that don’t do anything besides go home sleep and play video games all day. Since it was that guy that told I turned around and I actually started arguing with him. Just because he has a different opinion doesn’t mean he has the right to do that because it’s what I like it’s what I do. We were arguing back and forth for a while. One thing that has stuck in my head is that he told me that football does not help you with life and that it is a waste of time. In actuality football has made me grown as a person not just a player. It has given me a strong state of mind, to always move forward no matter how hard it seems or if you feel like giving up. This guy had no idea what football can help you

As a parent would you let your son play football knowing that the consequences can lead to his death? Football has a history with concussions and severe injuries that have affected players life later on in the future. Most of the athletes who have received concussions do not realize it until it’s too late, which can be later studied on and see a brain disease such as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). With this research, I would not give my son permission to play football because it causes concussions and bodily injuries, promotes violence, and causes permanent brain damage and death.…

Last year during fantasy football I had a great team my players rarely got hurt and none of them got suspended. On the other hand almost all of my opponents had to deal with that. My opponents all agreed that I had the best draft overall, and I would still get beat by all of them. First is the draft of a lifetime, I got the second pick and I picked Le'veon Bell. I also got many other good players such as: Drew Brees, Panthers Defense, Derek Carr, and Amari Cooper.…

The sport in its entirety is what I came to love. So, I’m still following a soccer-centric path as much as possible. Along the way, I guess my passion wasn’t seen by only me, later giving me the opportunity to become my school’s varsity team’s videographer, something I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude for. It’s gotten to the point where bringing up the sport to friends is just verbal diarrhea for them. Yet, they’ve never gotten fed up, and that’s just it.…

From a young age, I always loved playing football; being out on the field is one of the best feelings ever. The adrenaline, hearing the crowd cheering, scoring touchdowns; it a rush that goes through my veins and I cannot get enough of it. I would play because I enjoyed it, but I had no idea how the simple game of football would change my life for the better. Growing up I used to see my friends come home from little league practice everyday on school days and that really used to make me mad. They used to get home when the street lights were on and we were not able to come outside and play at that time.…
