This semester I feel that I have somewhat improved as a writer. The first thing from this class that has helped me was the peer reviews. They have decreased the nervousness that I used to feel when I would ask people to help and for suggestions. The second thing that impacted me as a writer was the discussion post about different writing styles and how different people had different processes. The one that impacted me the most was the video about David Sedaris. In his video he said how he rereads and redraft his projects several times over before the final draft. Also how he wants the characters in his stories to be relatable to the people reading. As I said in the discussion post, the video really made me think about how I used to write. In

The first time, I enrolled in this class, I felt excited knowing this class would help on my grammar, so I can become a better writer. My first thought that cross my mind was this was going to be easy and it was. My last experienced with writing and English was okay because I mainly get a B or a C, but rarely I would get an A. I always been having trouble with grammars. My high school English teachers taught us about grammars and how to become a better writer. It was similar to what you had taught us in class because we always learned about grammar out of a book and we got tested after we been practice.…

When I was a child I always though about business. I wanted to know how things worked, how money worked. I started watching my grandfather write his invoices, deposit checks, talk to people as if he knew them but they had just met. I wondered how he did it, how he played his cards right and got people to hire him.…

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

For most students, the moment the bell rings for summer, they never speak to their teachers again. Usually this applies to me as well, but last year, it didn't. Ms. Dirmeyer, my 7th grade Language Arts teacher, still keeps in touch with me, even though she’s not my teacher anymore. She takes interest in my writing, and has done several things to help me improve. Ms. Dirmeyer sends me emails with writing tips, along with worksheets directed towards improving my writing.…

Change is seen differently by different people. Some accept it while others deny it, depending on their values and mentality. This is seen in many places in today’s world, like political models, society’s values, and debates on environment based on science. Similar to almost everyone, life presented me with a chance of change when I was fairly young, end of 4th grade to be exact. I was asked by my parents to switch schools from a local medium to international medium of studies in India.…

Whether we know it or not in this modern society we are writers everyday of our lives. These interactions shape not only how we communicate but how we write as well. Personally, I have been shaped by the influence of both other writers I have known and those I have only read the creations of. Those same influences contributed to both my writing style in the classroom and to my identity as a writer. I spent a lot of my childhood with my nose deep in fiction novels at near by libraries.…

I write from the heart and I don't make use of flowery words or phrases to fill up space. My stories are rounded, cohesive, and targeted at my client’s specific audience. As I detest the use of spinning software, each article is researched and written by me, according to my client’s specifications. As for keywords, I'm more than proficient in their use, while I am also able to add links where the client thinks it necessary.…

When I think about an event that changed my writing, I think less about one specific event and more about past writings and teachers. During high school I took quite a few writing classes with a variety of teachers. Those teachers often influenced my writing, but only for a short while. The exception to that would have been my 10th grade composition teacher and my mythology teacher. These two teachers had an incredible influence on my writing and how I write today.…

Over the first semester I feel I have been appropriately challenged in the area of writing we have done this year. I learned many new skills, but the most important one involves English and how to write properly. As for the first writing, I really did not understand what was right and what was wrong. Because I never paid close attention to specific rules in how to write. I truly believe it has been hard for me.…

Writing is an extremely important skill in life, and improvements can always be made. It is the universal language, and is used everywhere, meaning it has to be strong, clear, and concise in order to be valuable and effective. An improvement I have made in writing this year that will help me throughout the future is developing a strong, clear conclusion and using the Writing Process more often. Although I have made improvements in my work, I still have to work on choosing and explaining evidence clearly. I chose this to be something to prioritize, since evidence is the heart of a well-written essay or paragraph, and I want to improve analyzing evidence, since it is a key to writing well.…

Although I am only a thirteen-year-old, there are about three whole things that some people may not know about me. First of all, my favorite hobby, among others, is playing video games. Unlike many people who play console, mobile, or PC games, I enjoy using tactics and strategy. Most gamers in today's gaming society enjoy holding the trigger or mouse button and spraying bullets back and forth until they can get a kill. However, when I play online games such as Battlefield or Medal of Honor, I like to use tactics and sneak up on my enemy.…
