I spent six of my summers growing up at an all girls camp called Wavus. Wavus is a wilderness tripping camp in Maine based out of my hometown, Jefferson. Living in Jefferson, I did not obtain a great deal of exposure to other people from the country, let alone other parts of the world. When I went to Wavus I was put in a cabin with girls from all over the United States and even one from Belgium. Having to live with these girls for a month each summer enabled me to become close friends with them and learn about their lives.…

If I had to describe my personality in parallel to geography, I would genuinely be stuck between the tranquility and lightheartedness of a beach, the warmth and cordiality of a small town, and the upbeat, jovial ambiance of a big city. Luckily for me, I came across Northwestern University, a school whose location is dynamic enough to both figuratively and literally fulfill each component of my dynamic personality. It was this diverseness that first drew me in to Northwestern University, but the location is not the university’s only appealingly diverse aspect; Northwestern also provides a spectrum of academic and extracurricular opportunities that mirror my manifold interests. Following the value of an interdisciplinary experience, I would have…
