Animal violence can now give you a Class A Felony if you decide to harm an animal in any way. Many people have been wrongly convicted for hurting innocent animals, such as Jessica Swain. Many of this lady's neighbors had called the police and notified them of Swain's dog that was outside in the cold for too long. The problem with that is Swain's dog is a Husky that is supposed to be in the outside cold because its fur protected the dog from getting too frozen. Swain was then arrested for her "animal abuse", but later was released because her conviction was found to be not guilty of trying to inflict pain on the animal. Many innocent people are behind bars because of this new law against animal violence. (Radke, Amanda. "Should animal abuse be a Class A felony? And who defines." Beef Magazine. N.p., 08 Feb. 2016.
