As the average american we have set routines, when we are a kid, our routine is called school. “Six classes a day, five days a week, nine months a year, for 12 years.”(“Against school: How Public Education Cripples Our Kids and Why”). This routine is so extensive and exhausting. After all our normal life’s are called break, we get a summer break, winter break, and an April break. Our winter break is given to see our family on the holidays, and April break is often a get away from our busy routine. But the biggest one of them all is our summer break. Now summer break we get to explore, play, and choose our daily routine. During this time we develop our individual characteristics by focusing on ourselves. It’s not a far fetched theory that this schedule has an affect on the kids who go through it as stated in (”school is bad for children”) “It is a rare child who can come through his schooling with much left of his curiosity, his independence or his sense of his own dignity, competence and worth.” This further exemplifies that the schedule is too grueling on the students.
