As the average american we have set routines, when we are a kid, our routine is called school. “Six classes a day, five days a week, nine months a year, for 12 years.”(“Against school: How Public Education Cripples Our Kids and Why”). This routine is so extensive and exhausting. After all our normal life’s are called break, we get a summer break, winter break, and an April break. Our winter break is given to see our family on the holidays, and April break is often a get away from our busy routine. But the biggest one of them all is our summer break. Many countries do not have mandatory military training but in some countries, it is mandatory for students to take one year of military training. This means how to use weapons, how to act as a unit, and what to do if your country is ever at war. Saving Public School According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in the 2013-14 school year, 1,737 schools were closed, resulting in over 274,000 students left to find a new place to get an education. While not all of these schools closed for the same reasons, a majority were due to low funding, with the leading cause of this being low test scores. The fact that not scoring well enough on a single test can determine if a school will be closed is crippling to youth education. This is why the abolishment of Common Core is the only way to save public schools. Schools are constantly having to worry about whether or not their overall scores are within standards.…

In a world dominated by the acceptance and flexibility of standards, it seems that the educational system shows little adjustability in the time required for high school graduation.
