I have decided to research plastic pollution in the oceans. I chose this topic because every other summer since I was little, my dad's side of the family has a family reunion at the New Jersey Shore. We rented a very nice beach house right on the shore. And I have always loved the ocean so I looked forward to this trip all year. But I have noticed that over the years trash has been building up. And every time I come back to the shore there's always more trash. And I have always wondered if the plastic is really harming the animals and fish that live in the ocean.
I already know a little bit about this topic. I know that the plastic is harming all the animals that live in the oceans, it is a worldwide problem, and that some people are trying to help by cleaning up the beaches near them.
For day one of my journal I have successfully found a credible source. This source is about how plastic pollution doesn't only harm the animals it also harms the humans. It harms us …show more content…
This source is about how plastic is about the global tragedy and how it's affecting the sea animals. And I have learned that hundreds of thousands of seabirds ingest plastic each year. And that sea animals that are most harmed are the sea turtles, seals, sea lions, seabirds, fish, and whales. Nest time I will start doing note cards.
For the fifth day I have completed the first 15 notes cards and 25 note cards are due next time so I will do some note cards at home. And I am learning more and more about the problem with plastic pollution like how plastic pollution is the main threat to sea turtles.
And for the sixths day I have finished my 25 note cards and I learned that “there's different types of ways that plastic is dangerous to humans because different toxins from plastic comes from lead, cadmium, and mercury” (source 1)And next time I will start on the essay rough draft next
