System Theory Boundaries are identified in the film as geographical areas that are separated by wealth as well as health, indicating that the more affluent a district, the better the health outcome (Robbins et al., 2012). According to Robbins et al., (2012), those who live in the affluent east side of Louisville are living in an Open System where individuals allow the exchange of energy and resources in order to live in better neighborhoods with access to healthy foods, health care, and education. This type of system offers a way to move up in the wealth and health gradient, providing a life expectancy 10-years longer than someone of low economic status, called Negative Entropy (Robbins et al., 2012). West Louisville, known for their low economic status, would be considered a Closed System as the energy in this area is lacking the ability to provide a safe, educational, and healthy living for the population (Robbins et al., 2012). According to The Girls Count report, if adolescent girls continue their education, they are more likely to remain healthy, gain real skills, marry later, have fewer children, and earn as much income as their male counterparts. By placing adolescent girls at the center of development, we can begin to foster the rights of girls and provide them with rights to health, economic gain, and human rights. At the moment, according to the Girls Count report, one out of eight person’s are girls who do are not warranted the same basic rights as boys and who undertake most of the domestic labor in order for her family to survive. If nearly all countries are legally bound to respect, protect, and fulfill girls’ rights, then why is it that gender inequality is still active and present? According to Girls Count, data shows that social and economic outcomes depend heavily on the condition of adolescent girls today. The goal of the Girls Count report is to change and improve the lives of girls for both their human rights as well as their economic
