PwC has an exceptionally high standard that is expected to be seen throughout their entire company through their projects. Without having solid internal communication, the projects will be affected and cause problems with the clients. They are also developing new learning platforms and creating ways to hire people to teach them what they want within the company. There are roughly four different steps each project goes through starting with the strategist, to architects, to project manager, and then finally to the studio where it is executed and implemented. The communication needs to shift from one group to another easily and have a clear overall idea for the final project. Certain departments have fewer team members to help work on the project. All of the departments work in teams and don’t have a firm form of command. Some team members work harder and more diligently than others. They provide new ideas but don’t get the feedback they need from the leaders. There needs to be a solid structure for who the leader is for each project, and what is expected of each team member throughout the project. Overall, the structure of teams and departments function as a whole very well together. Each meeting is communicated well and is structured to make sure each point is discussed.
Take Away from Structure
Overall, the structure at PwC works well within their own departments. The issues arise when there needs to be communication between other departments. This issue causes confusion and frustration between departments. The other issues that I noticed were the lack of leadership structure; the teams work together even without a firm leader. The structure of the teams would be stronger and more productive if there was one leader during each project.
