Aging in simple terms is the process of growing old. This process occurs over an organism’s whole lifespans to include all the changes both physiological and psychological. The course of aging is parabolic. For the first half of life it’s all about reaching maturity. Following fertilization, the fetus is constantly growing.
The fetus continuously grows inside the womb until it's mature enough for delivery. Following childbirth, the child grows at an exponential rate. Physically the child grows larger but mentally the child is able to form emotions, connections and thoughts. Milestones mark their growth and transitions from baby to toddler to preschoolers. Children learn to speak and walk in the first few years of life which is when they are at their primal learning age being able to absorb new information like a sponge.
