The Jim Crow Laws were local and state laws enforcing racial segregation in the Southern States in the United States. The organization extended into almost every southern states by 1870. The missions of the KKK were to completely get rid of African Americans, and re-establish white supremacy in the south/nation. Its members were white males(and only males) who were all for white supremacy, and as well as confederate soldiers.The group did not allow women or any other race other than white. The KKK´s attire included a white, hooded robe, with ther hood taking on a pointed shaped top (splcenter). The KKK´s impact on African Americans as well as minorities was that the hate group instilled fear in the black, and minority communities. (splcenter). In order to promote its agenda, the hate group would terrorize communities by burning crosses, churches, homes, and farms, as well as performing lynchings among blacks, and anyone who supported civil rights (docsouth). The KKK(the Klan of Reconstruction) was suppressed by the government in the early 1870s. The KKK was part of the Democratic Party. The KKK influenced Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Colorado, and Georgia governments by their ¨morals¨ and reasons for their crimes, because some of the their officials were Klan members (splcenter). On June 7th 1892 Homer Plessy was arrested for sitting in a white train cart when he was one eighth black and seven eighths white. (Ferris).
