Jesus is truly God manifested in the flesh. Jesus is clearly understood to be the only wise God and our Savior revealed to Jude chapter 1 vs 25. Here, Jude ascribes to Jesus attributes befitting of God himself glory, majesty, dominion, and power. Jesus was able to tell the seventy two in Luke the 10th chapter verse 17 that he beheld Satan fall from heaven as lightning because of his preeminence. And yes, the Word did become flesh and dwelt among us as stated in the Gospel of John chapter 1verse 14. The disciples were not yet filled with power from on High because God in the flesh was present with them so they could not yet fully understand from a natural mindset who Jesus really was. Phillip asked the question, “show us the father and to satisfy us”. Jesus answered when you have seen me you have seen the father (John 14:9). Nor could they grasp the concept that Jesus and his Father were one. Not just one in purpose and mission, but one in totality of being. But Jesus assured them that the comforter (Holy Spirit) who he would send in his name, who lead and guide them in all truth. The son of man would be revealed after they were filled with the Holy Ghost as the Son of God with clarity of understanding that Jesus is God the ‘only’ wise God. Thomas the disciple would after the resurrection of Jesus declare him to be “My Lord and my God”.
