I have several goals for myself and my career. Before I graduate I want to have an idea of what I want to do career wise. By the time I graduate from college I want to have applications sent out towards some positions I would like to do. I want to be in a career that I like being involved in. As of now I know I want to work on the business side of agriculture maybe with the financing side of the company. I hope to reach these goals, so I can have a successful career, that I am proud of. I plan on achieving these goals by working hard to ensure they are reached. To figure out what career I want to go towards I can achieve that b researching jobs and careers that I think would fit me well. I will read up on different jobs and communicate with people in those positions that I am researching. I also plan on finding an internship to test out a job that I think I would like. I knew a lot about Iowa agriculture the way it has been done in the past. What I didn’t know was about the new ideas. I never knew much about cover crops and how they are planted while the plant is in the ground sometimes. I knew some about it, so the soil didn’t wash away, but I didn’t realize some put nutrients back into the ground. The concept seems like it would work, but there needs to be more testing. I also knew very little about international agriculture. Like how some just throw seeds out by hand rather then plant in rows. I just thought about it enough to realized how advanced the United States is compared to other countries regarding agriculture. I know the same practices do not work for the countries, but I believe if developing countries could master agriculture like the United States they would be a lot more stable.
