The conversation was not intended to be punitive. I wanted to guide this conversation to address Amin's deflection, which is common practice for Amin. Amin is able to present very well, when he feels a lot may be at stake, then explodes when he feels the consequence will not be difficult to handle. Historically, Amin blames his behavior on others, no matter the severity of the behavior and/or denies the behavior occurred. During the two sessions I have participated in, Amin blamed his behavior choices on his aunt. Again, this is concerns me because such behavior is not conducive making progress toward treatment goals, being insightful (reflective), making choices, being accountable for behavior and finally recognize behavior triggers.
