In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet tell two adults of their love. Friar Laurence and the Nurse, the two grown-up that are aware of their relationship, both have seconds thoughts about helping them. Friar Laurence tells Romeo he is unsure about marrying the two teens because the morning before Romeo was heads-over-heals in love with Rosaline. However, Friar Laurence ignored this feeling. But if He did not ignore his feeling, Romeo would ignore him and still love and sneak around with Juliet. This is the case because of Romeo’s confidence and strong emotions. As demonstrated in Act 1 Scene 4-5, he is perfectly doing risky, borderline dangerous behavior to see the girl he loves. Also seen in Act 1 Scene 4, when Romeo is emotional he

Shocked by his fickleness between Rosaline and Juliet, Friar Laurence questions Romeo’s state of ‘love’, believing it to be mere infatuation. Although sceptical of Romeo’s change of heart, the Friar nonetheless agrees to marry the couple, hoping to reconcile the two families through their children’s union, stating, ‘In one respect I’ll thy assistant be/ For this alliance may so happy prove/ To turn your households' rancor to pure love’ (Act 2, Scene 3, line 90-92).…

Romeo and Juliet Essay by Skylar Spencer Couples today compared to couples in Romeo and Juliet’s time period were very different. Dating has definitely changed over time. In Romeo and Juliet, there were many factors that played a similar role as in the love stories today. I think age does play a role in decision-making, just like in the story. Back then, in Romeo and Juliet’s time, girls got married at a really young age.…

In Conclusion, I think that Romeo is a young, inexperienced and impatient but loyal and brave boy. I think that his naivety plays a huge rule in this because love was taken as an extravagant feeling to have when it was not truly happy as the lovers can experience heartbreak and many other obstacles. It seems as if Romeo only more cautious and deliberate, his devastating ending could have been prevented (even though we have not finished the book yet). Amongst friends especially Mercutio, Romeo shows signs of his social and quick witted persona, even with his fond of verbal jousting that is mainly about sex. Lastly, Romeo is like every other male in the world who only unveils their true self to the people who they trust or who understand them.…

Romeo and Juliet rush to get married after their first meeting. For example, when Romeo and Juliet are meeting in the orchard, Juliet says, “Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed./If that thy bent of love be honorable,/ Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow,/By one that I’ll procure to come to thee,/Where and what time thou wilt perform the rite;/And all my fortunes at thy foot I’ll lay/And follow thee my lord throughout the world”(2.2.142-148). Although Romeo and Juliet just met earlier that night, Juliet is already proposing and confessing her love to him. This is unexpected, considering their time span of knowing each other. According to what I have said, it becomes clear that Romeo and Juliet's way of love is totally different from their parent's way of love; each party has his own rule of love and his specific own way to express such love. Obviously, Shakespeare draws this comparison between parental love and romantic love to show the audience that although love is seen as a natural, desirable, and beautiful feeling, one may express it in a way that could result in violence, and destructive acts, and anger is one of such destructive acts " If romantic relationships were a coin, affection and love would be one side; anger and conflict would be the other" (Lynch 140). What Lynch wants to say is that Love is really a noble feeling but at the same…
