Romeo and Juliet is one of William Shakespeare’s most famous plays, and possibly his most tragic as well. With the two families, the Capulets and Montagues, warring, two young people fall in love. Even though Romeo and Juliet both committed suicide in the end, the people ultimately responsible for their deaths are the Capulet family, especially Lord and Lady Capulet. Some people might think the Capulets aren’t guilty, on the account that Lord Capulet allowed Romeo to stay at the party and meet Juliet, though other people there wanted him to go. Lord Capulet told Tybalt “Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone. ‘A bears him like a portly gentleman” (789). Lord Capulet did avoid immediate conflict in doing this, but it did lead to bigger conflict
