Sethe’s “rough choice” was wrong because if she hadn’t killed Beloved, Beloved would obviously have to go through the suffering of slavery, but she would get out of it at some point and get married and live a normal life like Sethe, it’s important for a daughter to live its life even if it means she might never see her mom Sethe again. Beloved says to Sethe “I am your face; I am you, why did you leave me who am I?” (Chapter 23 pg. 7) This is beloved talking to Sethe asking her why she left her. Another thing that Sethe should have thought about is her daughter in the afterlife. She was left alone with her own mother and that is why Beloved was angered. Another thing is that it’s against a person’s moral for killing your own child to keep her safe, it’s just not right and inhumane because Beloved might’ve suffered, but she was going to survive and live a life like Sethe and Denver. “Counting in the stillness of her own soul, she had forgotten the soul of her other baby girl beloved.” (Chapter 5-6) This quote is the narrator talking about Sethe forgetting about Beloved’s soul while only caring about her own soul. This is important because when Sethe killed Beloved, Beloved became a forgotten soul from the world because of Sethe’s bad choice. “124 was spiteful. Full of baby’s venom.” This quote is talking about Sethe’s house (124) and how it is spiteful by an baby’s venom. This means that Sethe house has been haunted by the ghost of Beloved and Beloved is haunting the house on purpose to make Sethe feel guilty on why she killed
