In “Same Sex Marriage Should Be a Basic Right”, the author, Jessica Grimble, believes that no matter what sex you are affiliated with, if you love each other, you should have the “basic right” to get married to whomever you want in the United States of America. One key position Grimble takes is that those who are not a part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual(LGBT) community will not be affected in any way by allowing those who are to be wed. Grimble also states that being against same sex marriage is discriminatory to the LGBT community. Grimble denotes that she believes same sex marriage, as a “basic right”, should not be voted on by the public. However, I believe Grimble does not see how same sex marriage should not be considered

But we do not, and will not, support discrimination and hate in our community”, but, inversely, allowing same sex marriage is discriminatory towards Christian beliefs (Grimble). As stated in the Bible, God declares that the only thing that was not considered good within His world was a lack of partnership in matrimony for Adam; therefore, God produced Eve out of Adam’s rib. A man and a woman, according to the Lord, is supposed to need one another, like Adam needed his rib. As a Christian parent, parents tell their children that same sex marriage is wrong because God made Adam and Eve for a reason therefore, you should follow that. Marriage is for a man and a woman to get married and have children of God. In Genesis 1:28-29 God says to Adam and Eve, “be fertile and multiply: fill the earth and subdue it.” God made man and woman to get married and multiply by making a family, while same sex marriage cannot do the same, so marriage of two woman or two men is not meant to be by our creator. Some might say that a man can take the place of a mother or a woman can take the place of a father, but that is not the case for those with Christian
