1. Experiment to test the Sapir Whorf hypothesis (relates to chapter 13)
My experiment: The experiment that I would preform would be coming up with about 5 of the same words and write them in English and write them in another language. I would gather a 4 people and hand them each a stack of 10 cards containing the words written in English and the other languages. I would then ask them say what they thought the meaning was for each one and how they interpret them. I would have English speakers would relate to the experiment as well as the other language that would be on the cards. I would expect each person to have a different reaction for the words that are written in the other language I think that their behavior towards it would be different …show more content…

Setting: College Softball Game i: Participants:
~ You have two teams, made up of players, as well as coaches.
~ Umpires. There is one that is located behind the plate, one that is located on the first base line, and another that is located along the third baseline.
~ You have announcers who announce the teams, players, and pitching changes.
~ If you watch the games on TV there are commentators who give a play by play of the games as well as give insight on the different players as well as teams.
~ Families, Friends, and other teams are in the audience supporting the teams when they …show more content…
In a conversation that I heard over the weekend between two women who are friends; During this conversation a comment was made “ she is a professional dog sitter” and the other woman replied saying, “ Well, I know but I have to make sure” The second women who said that has hesitation in her voice due to her anxiety about going on vacation without her dogs for the first time. It is a relevant example because she had hesitation in her voice when she was responding to the comment that was made. Two cues that were present were the word “well” as well as a hesitation/pause when she was talking.
