I think having seven periods will affect St.labre school. My opinion is that we should just stick with are eight periods. Another reason is so that students that want an elective can have one if they go along with the eight period classes. People think only having seven periods a day is better than eight. The students who enjoy lunch will definitely go for this because they can have a fifty-five lunch period. St.Labre should stick with eight periods because. This would definitely have an impact on the students because, Middle school and High school will mix up with each other bell. Spending more time in the same class can benefit anyone. Having a longer lunch will make the students exhausted and tired after lunch. I’m pretty sure most students

I think the school system should change to all year school. I think the school system should change to all year school because of the different schedules or multitracks. All year school has many different schedules to accommodate for families and other schools calendars. The different multitracks are 45/15, 60/20, and 90/30. The first number is the number of days that the students and teachers are in school; and the second number is the number of days of their break.…

There has been a lot of controversy over whether or not schools should have a later start time. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states, “ 17 million high school students aren’t awake enough for their first period class.” Even though this might be true, it may not be as good as it sounds. There are many pros and cons that surround this issue, but from my point of view, this would be a terrible idea. It could cause a lot of trouble for residents of Edmonson County.…

Within the first 30 minutes there is a public forum where people from the community, whether they have kids in school or not, are able to stand up and give there opinion on an issue that was being discussed or new that they would like to bring forward. Many teachers spoke about how changing away from the block schedule would impact the amount of teaching and the amount of time they would have in a shorter class period. Many opinions were heard and the one that stood out most to me was a parent with the argument that with this 8 period schedule it limits the amount of classes that are available to her child. Months after the meeting the school board revised the 8 period schedule and instead of having each teacher getting a full block of prep they are only getting a skinny period (40 minutes) and this allows another skinny period available and is offered as a class. After attending both of the meetings I learned the importance of being involved, sharing voice and views and the impact it can have especially in a small community like…
