The citizens of the United States religion does not affect the government or the citizen rights. In the United States they have a the bill of rights. The bill of rights was created to protect privileges and liberty of United States citizens. At the time the U.S. was creating their constitution, the U.S. had just escaped the rule of a tyranny. A group of people called anti-federalist wanted to add a bill of right to protect individual rights from a strong and powerful government. After the constitution was created, the government added ten amendments referred to as the bill of right. The first Article in the Constitution talks about the Legislative Branch and it duty to our government. The branch is in charge of creating laws, approving treaties, sending, bills, regulating trades and declaring wars. ("The Legislative Branch.") When establishing the legislative branch there was a conflict of how the members would be determine. Larger states wanted representation to be based on population, while smaller states wanted everyone to have one vote no what matter the population was. An agreement called the Great Compromise solved their problem. The Compromise said that there would be two houses, one called the House of Representatives, that will be based on states population and the second one called the Senate, which gives each state's two representatives.
