Luther believed that faith alone would bring forth salvation and that there were no social ranks. It was just God as the highest authority and everyone below him. Calvin believed in predestination, and it was up to society to live up to how God wanted it, and also believed that the church was in charge. As well as the Catholic Church; the Church believed that the good deeds meant salvation, vise versa.
