The author, Sally Roesch Wagner recreates the stories that these women had to go through long before the early American suffragettes and radical feminists of the late nineteenth century. In fact, it is stated multiple times in the course of this context how inspiration was drawn from Iroquois women. These individuals struggled so much- they fought for liberty and equivalence. However, just because we are no longer in that specific time period does not mean that their story is to be forgotten about. This book refers and makes us stop to think about how this particular event influenced an enormous social movement.
