Introduction
Socialization is a perennial convivial experience in which people develop their human potential. Every social experience that we encounter affects us in ways, no matter how immensely colossal or diminutive the changes in us are. However, several of these settings are more important and influential than others. Our family, schools, peers, and the media change us in several ways and guide the socialization process. We gave them these choices to determine which agent of socialization influences their lives most. We asked a class of sixteen students which of the culls influences them the most; their peers, family, schooling or the media.
If a person were to choose peers as a large influence in their life, it is probably because they have a vigorous desire to fit in with their friends (Kemmet n.d.). According to my research, children are influenced by their parents because they are cognate to them and they are always around each other. They automatically trust their parents and relatives and feel like they have their best interests at heart. A family 's dynamic could additionally determine which influences them the most. A teenage girl in a single parent may home could be more heavily influenced by peers because she is not getting the attention at home. A person would probably choose school as a cumbersomely hefty influence because it furthers their academics. Kids spend eight hours a day in school, for seven days a week, for 13 years just to go to a more sizably voluminous institution. School is a large part of our daily lives, in both social and academic aspects. This would be the reason for an abundance of influence from school. Each of these agents have their own way of influencing children. For example, edification enlarges a child´s convivial world to include people with different backgrounds. However, no one voted that education was an influence in their life in, according to the survey we conducted. However, most of the students voted that family influenced them the most because their family availed them in shaping their personality. Their family provides them with a secure and safe environment where they can be doted. It avails with the formation of their self-esteem and their well-being. Some people would argue that mass media is the most important agent of socialization because television shows, movies, music, magazines, websites, and other aspects of the mass media influence our political views, our tastes in culture, our views on women, people of color, and homosexuals and many other beliefs and practices. Peer groups are withal another consequential agent of socialization because this is a way for people to learn about more things among a group of people in which they have a lot in prevalence. They learn more because they have more in common, and instead of getting exposed to things at home, children are exposed to the consequences of their choices through their peer groups.
