Many students at Saint John Neumann are unhappy with the amount of time given to them for study hall. At the beginning of the year most students start out with little or no homework, but in a few months they are drowning in it. There are many different ways to help students to succeed in school but the best way is to give longer study halls.

First of all, adding more study hall would improve lots of student's grades. Many students have little time to do homework at home and some have trouble starting it. Adding more time to study hall will give those students time to complete it in school. Those students will have a quiet and calm environment to do homework, study, and read AR books. Students will also have very few distractions compared to at home. Also most students will be able to finish their work in school giving them more free time at home.

The most important reason our school should have a longer study hall is that it will encourage lots of students to do better in school. This is because with more time to work and study students will have more time to reflect on grades and then want to do better. Also unlike in the current time for study hall students will note rushing to complete all of their work before the bell rings. This will allow them to work harder and better. Final when students finally see the results of doing more homework and studying longer they will want to do even better and start doing more at home.

Some people might say that adding time to study hall will take too much time out of important classes or add time to school but that is not true. Just by subtracting a small amount of time from each class you could add a large amount of time to study hall, since the classes would only need to be cut by four or five minutes. Teachers can then allocate little or no time for students to work on assignments in class since they will have lots of time to do it in their new and much longer study

Teenagers are not meant to be as stressed as they are. Study hall would relieve some stress originally caused by an excessive amount of homework, which study hall would also regulate outside of school. On the other hand, many believe that students would instead become lazy. In reality, students would just have more time for things like volunteer work, studying, family time, and perhaps a job. This would considerably reduce time on homework outside of school, resulting in more free time for…
