Nurses should start preventative teaching to help patient take the initial step in proper self care. Today, home health Registered Nurse, RN, apply this concept by focusing on teaching. Florence Nightingale stated, “and remember every nurse should be one who is to be depended upon, in other words, capable of being a confidential nurse” (Nightingale, 1969, p 125). For instance, after a patient is discharge from the hospital, home health is ordered. An RNs’ responsibility is to make sure patient is well educated and aware of the cause of recent hospitalization.
