After the emergence of Dak Prescott in the NFL this season- managing to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 10-1 record. What’s different about him? The Cowboys had their franchise quarterback in Tony Romo for the longest time and were still a winning team. Now they’re in first place. Dak Prescott has put up big numbers this season after just coming out of Mississippi state. When talking about quarterbacks you need to go back to before the NFL; the NCAA.
Out of the last seven Heisman winners- six of them have been quarterbacks. You expect this as they touch the ball on every snap thus picking up more yards. The interesting thing is that these six quarterbacks are all dual-threat. By that I mean …show more content…
He was drafted in the third round from the University of Wisconsin. The Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 offseason picked up Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn who was originally going to start the season. Pete Carroll decided against it and started the rookie instead. That decision changed the dynamic of the team. He went on to win rookie of the year that season. Although they had Marshawn Lynch in the backfield they once again could bring the “option” back to the NFL. In 2014 he led his team to the Super Bowl and destroyed the Denver Broncos 43-8. He returned to the super bowl the next year with his best season ever. He amassed 4577 yards and 35 touchdowns. 553 of those yards came on the ground. The plays were made when Wilson couldn’t find an open receiver and took it himself. These selfish plays lead to first downs, and first downs lead to scores. To think that he only scored 5 touchdowns bringing it in himself then in the air. A lot of people think it was luck that he did that well in college because of his NFL performance. He was drafted 22nd in 2014 by the Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns are one of the worst team in sports ever since Jim Brown retired. The Cleveland Browns have started 26 different quarterbacks since 1999. Tom Brady has been starting since 2001. That’s how bad their team is. Even though Manziel might have possibly been a “good” quarterback his team was so bad that it didn’t show. He was out of the league in 2
