Superhuman Strength And Courage In Beowulf

In Beowulf, he uses his superhuman strength and courage to put his peoples before himself. He came across terrifying monsters and a lot of dangerous beasts, but he never feared the threat of death. He risked his life for fame and glory and for the good of others.

Beowulf fought in numerous battles and made victory from all of his fights except his last battle. One of his battles was against Grendel. Beowulf was sent to Herot to stop Grendel from killing Danes and other humans. Beowulf fought Grendel with his bare hands, because he felt like he was powerful to fight against Grendel without using his armor and sword. As Beowulf and Grendel was fighting, Grendel noticed that Beowulf was more powerful than he was and that there’s was no chance of him winning the battle, so Grendel tried to escape and as he was fighting to escape, Beowulf had ripped his arms and broke his muscles and bones in Grendel body leaving him in pain to die. Beowulf stood brave and strong with his shield at his side ready to defeat the dragon. As the dragon started to pour out fire, Beowulf raised his shield to protect him, but his shield started to melt, leaving him in danger with no protection causing him to suffer from severe wounds injuries from the dragon swirling flames. As he was lying there undefeated by the dragon, none of his comrades came to help him only one brave true soldier stayed by his side and that was Wiglaf, whom looked up and worshiped Beowulf because of all the things that he had given him.
