Throughout the last 20 years there has been many positives with the growth of technology and the internet. But with this there has also been some negative aspects of it too such as cyberbullying. With the rise of social media it has become easier for students to communicate with each other. This poses a problem because now it is easier for students to bully each other. Since there are not consequences for their online actions, students feel as if they are invincible. So schools should step in and do something about it. Schools should limit online speech because it has become a widespread problem, it can disrupt the learning environment, and it affect people’s lives.

The teenage years can be rough with learning how to act like an adult and how to fit into society. Some teenagers may use outlets to deal with this stress such as alcohol, drugs or even bullying (Effects of Bulling). If life is not treating someone well then they may feel compelled to take their anger out on someone else which is how cyberbullying can happen. In Document E this is shown with a teacher who is saying that is privacy and dignity have been stripped away from him because of cyberbullying. The principal's response is what did they steal this time money, credit cards. In this cartoon the message is that privacy and dignity is something that is worth so much more than those other things. This is a major problem with cyberbullying is people do not know what the effect of that one comment can have on someone and how it can impact their life. Some of the effects that bullying can have on people is depression and increased feelings and sadness and loneliness (Effects of Bullying). So if someone is starting to endure these feelings how can they focus on school? They can’t and schools needs to do something about
