The Solar Wind Composition Experiment was carried out to determine the chemical composition of the wind. The Laser Ranging Retroreflector was carried out to calculate the distance from the Moon to the Earth. The Passive Seismic Experiment studied the propagation of seismic waves through the Moon and provided the most detailed look at the Moon’s internal surface.
