I would like to change that by allowing different races to be on the jury. This will help so it is not biased. If any of you end up in court and want to change. At least you have the choice to change. One example is the Tom Robison case. As you may of figured out during the Trial there was no way Tom could have done it, but he was still found guilty because he was different. Let’s make a goal to always have justice in Maycomb. The next thing I would like to disuses is making everyone equal. I know this task will take a lot of time, but I think it will help Maycomb in the long run. If we were all equal we could share our opinions and build new relations. If all the whites and blacks put their minds to it, we could accomplish new things. What really makes people so different? Racism is the belief that characteristics can cause people to be inferior or superior to other races. In the book, it shows this mainly when a lawyer named Atticus defends a black man. “Mrs. Dubose would hound Jem for a while on her favorite subjects. Our fathers’ nigger loving propensities.”(108) This shows that people do not accept African Americans and even in the world today there is a lot of racism against African Americans. An example, of this in our world is when “an African American man was tased for 20 seconds even though he had no aggressive movements and was unarmed.”(tcanes) This proves that even if they do nothing wrong the way someone looks is more important to society. Even African Americans are racist toward white people. In the book when Calprana took them to church. “Lula stopped, but she said “ya ain’t got no business bringing white children here… they got their church”. (114) being unfair happens to different kinds of people no matter who you are. It has been happening in books and in the real world for
