During 1942 (World War 2), the US was at war, with Earhart’s flight path flying directly over enemy territory. It is speculated the US government used her as a ‘Trojan Horse’ to spy on the Japanese, in order to gain crucial information regarding war/enemy tactics. The alleged plan was to allow the US Navy to come to Earhart’s rescue, and gain instrumental access to Japanese waters and begin exploration.
