In recent news stories “Sex-trafficking” has been at the forefront acknowledging this issue is prominent in the United States. Surprisingly learning that the state I current call home has been considered one of the top three States in which trafficking is a huge problem. Growing up in Wisconsin you see the working women/men aka prostitutes walking up and down certain locations in milwaukee that are considered to be illegally designated for prostitution. So my thought is to create a transitional living home for those who have been exploited. This home will provide each person with the tools essential for living a normal and healthy life such as: Counseling, mental health assessment and treatment, personal hygiene, cooking, job training.

Which, has risen from 2014 projections of 1 in 6. Also, learning that 74% of victims were in care of social services. In 2011 a domestic team was created to battle the epidemic of child sex trafficking.
Trafficking has no direct link to any particular age group, gender, ethnicity, etc. I have read of children as young as two being sold and as old as thirty. All individuals feel helpless and the sad thing is many may think of the thirty year old and wonder why he/she is allowing someone to control her mind and body, never thinking that he/she may be just as helpless as the two year old child, due to being broken down mentally and physically.
This was considered to be just something that happen to the poor or those from other countries. However, in a recent news story I learned that men were having send there prostitutes to popular party areas to gather more girls to add to their “Stable” meaning number of prostitutes. I have had the pleasure of attending several meeting with my mother just to make an informed decision before entering a business agreement. Learning that victims are killed daily, by their “pimps” or “johns” (prostitute’s customer). Also, perish due to contracting Aids and HIV. Not to mention, no one wants to deal with this population due to the risk factors. There has been instances that the men/women call their “pimp” to the home to pick them up and when security won’t let them leave they are threated and/or attacked. Also, when a person has allowed another person to control their daily routine and life. There is a feeling of dependency and the inability to function without that individual.
