Particularly, studied have examined the effects of radiation and Wi-Fi on the composition of tissues and DNA. Avendano, Mata, Sarmiento, and Doncel (2012) examined the effects of Wi-Fi on human sperm, by examining the effects of samples of human sperm under the exposure of Wi-Fi. They found that there was no significant difference in the percentage of viable sperms and non-progressive sperms. However, there was a significant decrease in sperm motility, and significant increase in DNA, fragmentation. In a similar study Akdag, Dasdag, Canturk, Karabulut, Caner and Adalier (2016) examined this finding in rats exposed to Wi-Fi for a year, and found that rats testicular tissues and DNA fragmentation was negatively affected by Wi-Fi. They explained the magnetic field is associated with free-radical production. Consequently, free radicals cause damage to cell, cellular structures and molecules such as lips and proteins. Free radicals promote lipid peroxidation by interacting with polyunsaturated fatty acids in the cell membranes. They noted that the damage may occur at the membrane level causing cell death and immortality. Damage can also occur at the DNA level, causing DNA fragmentation. Avendano, Mata, Sarmiento, and Doncel (2012) noted researchers should further investigate the mediating factors of those …show more content…
Researchers have shown technology has a negative impact on sleep, and lack of sleep is associated with deteriorating health effects. Additionally, excessive of technological uses, as it becomes an addiction, has an impact on the structure of the brain. Lastly, researchers have indicated that radiation from Wi-Fi, has a direct impact of sperm tissues and DNA composition, however those finding need further investigation as there is scarce published research on the association between human sperm and Wi-Fi. In conclusion, it appears that our technology dependent life style has an impact on our cognitive processes, emotional perceptions, psychological well-being and physical well-being, and the majority of studies have indicated that this is a negative
