Introducing stunting which is a difficult skill in cheerleading. Some of the different positions are called bases, back spots, front spots, and flyers. To start off with, the positions are all important no matter what position you are in. A base is in direct contact with the performing surface (floor or mat) and supports the flyers weight. The back spot is in a correct spot in case there was an injury to a flyer and is the person that protects the head and shoulders. The front spots are in charge of the flyer if she falls forward.
